Demonstration of Persistent Ground Surveillance System (PGSS) at Ft. Belvoir, Va.

The Department of Defense and the Army will host a demonstration and static display of the Persistent Ground Surveillance System (PGSS) on May 18 at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia. The PGSS display will be held on Fremont Field at Ft. Belvoir.

The PGSS includes lighter than air tethered and tower based platforms. This rapidly fielded system increases intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities and provides a more complete surveillance picture through inclusion of information from new sensor systems. Subject matter experts from the program office and its partners will be available to take queries. Pending clear weather, PGSS will be available for demonstration and display to media until noon.

Media wishing to attend must RSVP by email to jennifer.elzea@osd.mil or by phone at 703-697-5131 by 8:30 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, May 18, 2010. Attending media must be in Ft.
