Law enforcement and corrections practitioners now have a direct online resource to identify and submit their technology needs and requirements to the National Institute of Justice. Practitioners can use the JUSTNET Tech Need Input Form to identify problems with existing technology or lack of technology and a possible solution.
The form asks submitters to identify the scientific or technology fields that relate to the need based on NIJ technology portfolio areas, such as biometrics, school safety, corrections and electronic crime. The entries are sorted by technology area and sent to NIJ-sponsored Technology Working Groups to evaluate. The information will be used to help prioritize how NIJ invests its resources in technology development.
