The FBI’s InfraGard Program Supports the Computer Forensics Show in New York

Beginning Monday, April 19, the FBI’s New York Office InfraGard team co-sponsored the 2010 Computer Forensics Show in New York. More than 1,000 people signed up for this two-day conference, including academics, corporate investigators, and top professionals in the computer industry, in addition to those interested in partaking in a variety of training activities. Over 350 individuals were provided computer, accounting, and legal forensic educational training.

Topics of discussion presented by members of the FBI’s InfraGard team included:

• 2010 Cyber Threats and Trends
• Using Network Forensics to Combat Cyber Attacks
• State of the Hack—Find Evil. Solve Crime.
• Combating Threats to Your Critical IT Infrastructure
• The Use of Digital Forensics in Inspecting Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear Facilities

FBI Special Agent (SA) and New York Metro Chapter InfraGard Coordinator Jim Capozzi participated in the two-day conference. SA Capozzi said, “The field of computer forensics continues to grow and change. This conference provides a platform for people interested in the computer industry to come together and share ideas about the latest advancements in this field. Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive and excellent liaisons were forged.”

Joe Concannon, president of the New York Metro InfraGard Alliance said, “This was a great opportunity to interact with leaders in the computer forensic field and helped us establish new relationships which will continue to improve our InfraGard chapter and help keep New Yorkers safe and informed.”

InfraGard is a government and private sector alliance with the goal of protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure.
