Sign Up Now for Two Webinars From the Forensics Technology Center of Excellence

Registration is now open for two August 2019 webinars from the NIJ FTCoE.

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, the FTCoE hosts A Campus-Wide Response to Sexual Misconduct: Best Practices from 1-2:30 p.m. This webinar highlights the dynamics of campus sexual assault that may be specific to, or heightened in the context of, a college or university setting. Additionally, Presenter Elizabeth Seney, Senior Associate Director of the Office for Institutional Equity and the Interim Title IX Coordinator at the University of Michigan, discusses best practices in three areas of response to sexual misconduct on campus. The webinar integrates information about the legal framework within which institutions must operate (e.g., Title IX, VAWA, Clery, case law, state laws, etc.) with the nuances of supporting students and creating a safe and respectful campus climate. Information on the second event, on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 1-3 p.m., can be found at https://forensiccoe.org/webinar/understanding-the-impact-of-drug-background-levels-in-forensic-laboratories/. Understanding the Impact of Drug Background Levels in Forensic Laboratories covers the results and interpretation of the multi-laboratory background study, as well as additional studies that have begun to address questions arising from processes that contribute to drug background. Additional topics include ensuring data quality, developing ways to reduce background and strategies for self-monitoring.
