NCSAM WEEK THREE

The focus of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month’s third week is “Security of Internet-connected Devices in Healthcare.”  The healthcare industry relies on internet-connected devices and solutions to improve patient care, organizational efficiency, speed of crisis response, and much more. The emergence of telemedicine, digital health records, online medical devices, patient wellness apps, and an increasing amount of third parties entering the health supply chain has created many benefits. However, it has also exposed the industry to vulnerabilities that cybercriminals can exploit. This week will also explore what steps users can take to protect their healthcare devices and data and do their part to #BeCyberSmart. Visit the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Cybersecurity Resources (https://www.cisa.gov/cisa-cybersecurity-resources) and the CDSE Cybersecurity Toolkit (https://www.cdse.edu/toolkits/cybersecurity/training.html) to learn how to better protect your internet-connected health devices.
